That's all?

Today we went to a birthday party for my 84 year old grandmother. We gave her a House Mouse card, and when she showed the picture to one of her friends, she explained "My granddaughter has pet rats." She turned to me and asked "How many rats do you have?"

"Five," I answered.

"Just five? That's all?" asked my grandmother.

Ah, and five years ago, she couldn't imagine why anyone would want even one.

Your grandmother is cool! :-)

When I told my Chinese/Indonesian stepgrandfather about my rats, he replied that they used to feed snakes with rats back in Indonesia. :-|

Hahahaha... For me it was always the other way round right from being a kid, I could never understand why people never liked rats and WHY my mother and father would not ever let me have a rodent full stop! (Except a guinea pig) Until one day I grew up and got given a rat someone bought on a whim. ***Sighs*** And now I am truuuuueeely in love with them...Hehe :D *sigh*
What is the "house mouse" by the way??

Nina, check out the link to House Mouse in the post. They are the work of an artist in Vermont who draws an adorable group of mice.

I wish I could convert my MIL into a rat lover.

I currently have 5 rats too. The most I've owned at one time.

And I LOVE House Mouse...too cute.
